Accounts Team Leader

We’re working with a fast-growing and forward-thinking independent firm of accountants based in Maidstone, known for its progressive culture, high-quality client service, and ambitious growth plans. As they continue to expand, they’re now seeking an Accounts Team Leader to join their dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically strong individual to step into a leadership role, managing a growing client portfolio and helping to shape the future of a high-performing team.

The Role

As Accounts Team Leader, you will:

• Prepare and review year-end accounts and tax compliance work for a varied portfolio of clients

• Begin to take ownership of your own portfolio of fees, building strong client relationships

• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to junior team members, assisting with training and development

• Ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and technical compliance across all outputs

• Work closely with partners and managers on client delivery and internal improvements

• This is a hands-on role with real responsibility from day one, and strong potential to grow into a full manager position in the near future.

The Ideal Candidate

The role would suit someone with:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing accounts and tax computations

• Some previous team management or supervisory experience

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive client and team relationships

• A proactive mindset, keen to take ownership and drive quality
