Financial Controller

A successful and growing manufacturing business based in Kings Hill is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead its finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation at a key stage in its development, offering both strategic and hands-on responsibility.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, cost control, and compliance. You will also play a vital role in driving operational efficiency and supporting key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day finance operations, including management accounts, cash flow, and statutory reporting.
• Business partner with the MD and senior leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic growth.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage and improve internal controls, processes, and financial systems.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and year-end audit preparation.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, margin performance, and operational efficiency.
• Manage and develop a small finance team.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience.
• Strong background in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
• Proficient in financial systems and Excel; experience with ERP systems desirable.
• Commercially astute, with strong analytical and communication skills.
