CFO

Farrer Barnes are partnering exclusively with a large charity based in North Kent.  They are currently looking for a new CFO to drive the organisation forward into its next phase of growth.

About the Role
As CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the charity, ensuring robust financial systems, compliance, and strategic planning. You'll work closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and operational teams to guide sustainable growth and ensure we make the most of every pound we receive and spend in support of our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the charity’s financial strategy, planning and reporting
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance across multiple projects and income streams
• Oversee finance, payroll, audit, and risk functions
• Support income diversification and sustainability planning
• Act as a key advisor to the CEO and Trustees, presenting financial information in an accessible and strategic way
• Ensure full compliance with charity accounting regulations and best practices

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a charity or complex, multi-strand organisation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
• Passion for the third sector and alignment with our charitable values
