Accounts Semi-Senior

We are working with a highly reputable and fast-growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in Ramsgate, who are looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their supportive and forward-thinking team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years’ experience in practice, who is either AAT qualified or currently studying, and is now ready to take the next step in their career with a firm that truly invests in its people.

The Role:

You will be involved in a broad range of work across accounts preparation and bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, sole traders, and SMEs. The role offers genuine variety, structured development, and the chance to work as part of a collaborative and dynamic team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing statutory accounts from source records, trial balance, or bookkeeping

• Carrying out bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.)

• Assisting with VAT returns and management accounts

• Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and software use

• Liaising with managers and senior staff to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met

• Continuing to develop your technical skills through hands-on experience and study support

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

• At least two years of experience in a UK accountancy practice

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT (or equivalent)

• Solid experience preparing accounts and handling bookkeeping

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop

• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
