Accounts Semi-Senior

We are working with a highly respected and growing accountancy firm with multiple offices across Kent, currently seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their East Kent office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years’ experience in general practice who is now looking to step up, take on more responsibility, and continue building a long-term career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As Accounts Semi-Senior, you will work closely with experienced seniors and managers to deliver high-quality year-end accounts for a diverse client portfolio, ranging from sole traders and partnerships to larger limited companies.

You’ll also take on higher-level bookkeeping and VAT responsibilities, giving you valuable exposure across a variety of sectors and client sizes. Early autonomy is a key part of the role – this is a firm that trusts its people and supports their development at every stage.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing statutory year-end accounts for a wide range of clients

• Completing VAT returns and supporting clients with bookkeeping queries

• Liaising directly with clients to request records and resolve queries

• Supporting senior staff and managers on client assignments

• Assisting with software implementation and providing client training where needed

• Continuing to develop your knowledge of compliance and advisory work

About You

• Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/ACA

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice

• Confident in preparing year-end accounts and handling VAT/bookkeeping tasks

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients

• Organised, proactive, and eager to learn

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
