About the Role

My client based in Sidcup is looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Supervisor for an initial 3-month contract that could very well be extended to assist in implementing a new “Purchase to Pay” system.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of purchase ledger transactions and other management information. You will lead a small team of purchase ledger clerks, guiding and mentoring them to deliver to expected levels, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, expense reimbursements, and supplier payments.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance, to improve processes and enhance the Purchase Ledger workflow.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, resolving any inquiries or discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all statutory obligations
  • Generate reports for wider finance staff, offering insights into spending trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliation and reporting.
 
Ideally an experience ledger supervisor / manager with team management experience or a current accounts manager, this role is offered on a flexible, hybrid model.  AAT qualification would be an advantage, but not essential.
