Director of Finance and Operations

My client is an East London based academy, looking to recruit a Director of Finance and Operations to hold overall responsibility for the leadership, management and delivery of the business operations, financial and estates strategies of the Academy.

The Director of Finance and Operations is the most senior operations and professional services post, sitting within the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will revel in demonstrating a track record of successful strategic, financial, estates and operational management in previous roles, either within the charitable sector or Education sector. You’ll be responsible for helping to set the financial agenda, including strategic planning and budget setting, ensuring the best controls, reporting and insight is generated from the team.  You will lead the central support services of the Trust and be enthusiastic about being involved in the wider aspects of school life, upholding the enviable reputation the school enjoys.  

Highly commercially astute, you will have had responsibility for developing new income streams and overall responsibility for the financial performance of an organisation. The Principal and Board of Governors are seeking a creative and proactive individual with the intellect and energy to seek out new opportunities, to strive for increased efficiency and the experience to lead, manage, motivate and inspire a broad ranging team.

A fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) is required, alongside relevant sector experience.  You’ll enjoy working across the support function, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and strong IT / reporting experience.
