Accountancy Practice - Senior Client Manager

We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Gravesend that is looking to appoint a confident and commercially minded Senior Client Manager. This is a key leadership role within the firm, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a substantial client portfolio while playing a central part in the ongoing development of the practice.

This position would suit an experienced practice professional with a minimum of five years’ experience, who has already operated at Manager level and is comfortable overseeing both clients and a team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors, acting as a trusted advisor while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Alongside this, you will lead and support a team of staff, reviewing work, providing guidance, and ensuring deadlines and technical standards are consistently met.

They're looking for someone used to meeting and bringing in new clients, quoting etc., working at the technical end of accounts reviewing and dealing with all staff queries for tax and accounts etc., and able to bring in systems and compliance changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and developing a portfolio of SME clients
• Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax work
• Acting as the main point of contact for client queries and advisory work
• Supporting, mentoring, and supervising junior and mid-level staff
• Driving new business development, including attending meetings and preparing proposals
• Implementing and improving internal systems, processes, and compliance procedures

About You

• At least 5 years’ experience within accountancy practice
• Previous experience operating at Manager level
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
• Proven experience managing both a client portfolio and a team
• Commercially aware, with the confidence to win and onboard new clients
• Comfortable introducing change and improving systems within a practice environment
