Accountancy Practice Bookkeeper

We are recruiting for a Practice Bookkeeper on behalf of an independently owned, growing and well-respected firm of accountants based in Medway. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper looking for a long-term role within a supportive practice environment.

The role will include:

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of owner-managed business clients

• Preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records

• Bank reconciliations, purchase and sales ledgers

• VAT returns and general compliance work

• Liaising directly with clients, answering queries and building strong relationships

• Working closely with accountants to support year-end and accounts preparation

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of two years’ bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice

• Strong client communication and relationship-management skills

• Good working knowledge of bookkeeping software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)

• A proactive, organised and detail-focused approach

• The ability to work independently while being a strong team player
