Senior Practice Bookkeeper

A prominent and highly regarded firm of accountants based in the Dartford area is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Bookkeeper to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants to work with a broad range of clients, from smaller owner-managed businesses through to companies with turnover of up to £10 million.

The Role

The position offers an excellent balance of hands-on bookkeeping and review work, giving you the opportunity to use your existing practice experience while developing your technical and review skills.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients.

• Carrying out bookkeeping and associated accounting tasks across a range of businesses.

• Reviewing work prepared by an overseas outsourced function and ensuring it meets the firm's required standards.

• Working with clients with turnovers ranging from smaller businesses through to approximately £10 million.

• Identifying issues and ensuring bookkeeping records are accurate, complete and properly maintained.

• Liaising with clients and colleagues to resolve queries and ensure work is completed efficiently.

About You

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' experience working as a Bookkeeper within an accountancy practice.

• Strong practical bookkeeping experience and a good understanding of accounting principles.

• Experience working with a varied portfolio of clients.

• The ability to review work critically and identify errors or areas requiring further investigation.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A professional, client-focused approach and the ability to work independently.
