School Management Accountant

My client is a school, based just outside Benenden. They are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team on an initial temporary basis. This role could go permanent for the right person

The role will have responsibility for providing a wide range of month end and transactional accounting requirements, alongside the overall production of management accounts to include analysis and commentary.

In more detail the role will:

• Ensure monthly financial statements are produced for all budget holders and ensure the school has quality financial information to support decision making.
• Proactively work with the Head to ensure budget holders are supported to resolve any concerns or difficulties with their financial performance.
• Preparation of the annual budgets and medium-term financial plan including ongoing budget management with key stakeholders
• Ensure accruals and pre-payments are updated accurately, working alongside the finance team members to ensure day to day transactional tasks are accurately  
• Support payroll processes, including collating monthly payroll changes, checking payroll reports and liaising with payroll providers
