Purchase Ledger Clerk

We’re looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a busy and friendly finance team in Folkestone on a temporary basis.

This is a high-volume, deadline-driven role where accuracy, pace and organisation are essential. But while the environment is busy, the culture is warm, supportive and genuinely family orientated.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in keeping the purchase ledger running smoothly, with responsibilities including:

• Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Matching, coding and posting invoices.
• Resolving invoice and supplier queries promptly.
• Preparing supplier payments and supporting payment runs.
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate supplier records.
• Supporting the wider finance team with general accounts administration.
• Working to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. 

About You

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and is comfortable working in a busy finance environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous purchase ledger or accounts payable experience.
• Experience handling high volumes of invoices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
• Confidence working to deadlines and managing competing demands.
• Good Excel and general IT skills.
• A positive, team-focused attitude.
• The ability to work independently while being a supportive member of the wider finance team.

The Package

• Up to £16 per hour, depending on experience.
