Management Accountant

Our client is a well-established and growing business operating within a fast-paced commercial environment. With a strong reputation for quality and customer service, they are seeking an experienced finance professional to join their team and support continued growth and operational excellence.

The Role:
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our client. Working closely with senior leadership and the wider finance team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals, and month-end reconciliations.
• Produce monthly management accounts with detailed commentary and analysis.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning processes.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Oversee the purchase-to-pay process, ensuring robust controls and governance.
• Provide costing analysis and commercial insights to support decision-making.
• Act as a key contact for external auditors and support year-end processes.
• Lead and develop a small transactional finance team.

Desirable Skills:

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Previous management accounting experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Strong systems experience, ideally including ERP and purchase-to-pay platforms.
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff.
