Finance Manager

About The Company:

A specialist logistics company who work across the South-East and further afield.  Going through an intensive period of sustained growth, they are now in a position to further expand their finance team with this key appointment.

The Role:

A Financial Controller responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across the business, providing strategic and operational support to the Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate management accounts, reporting, and cash flow control for a busy SME logistics depot.
• Hands-on use of Xero, including reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end processes.
• Partner with sales teams to track performance, manage commission schemes, and ensure timely, accurate payments.
• Drive financial efficiency and support leadership with insights, forecasts, and recommendations to aid business growth.

Desirable Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of Xero and confidence in leveraging its reporting capabilities.
• Experience within a fast-paced SME environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, sales, and leadership teams.
• Proven ability to improve processes, implement controls, and support commercial decision-making.
