About the Role

The Company

I’m supporting a growing consultancy based in Wrotham, known for its supportive culture, strong client relationships and ongoing expansion. With continued growth heading into the new year, they’re looking to bring an experienced, hands-on Credit Controller into their finance team.

The Role

This is a busy, transactional role where you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end credit control function. You’ll be the main point of contact for all debt-related queries, ensuring invoices are raised accurately, payments are collected promptly, and accounts remain up to date.

It’s ideal for someone who enjoys structure, process and being right at the heart of day-to-day cashflow management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email
  • Proactively reducing aged debt and improving cashflow
  • Setting up new customer accounts and completing credit checks
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes
  • Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
  • Monitoring the debtor ledger and preparing aged debt reports
  • Investigating and resolving invoice disputes and client queries
  • Maintaining accurate notes and audit trails within the finance system
  • Supporting the month-end process with reconciliations and reporting
  • Assisting with continuous improvements to debt management processes
  • Providing administrative support to the wider finance team when required
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a transactional credit control role
  • Confident, friendly and professional communication style
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and internal teams
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems and Excel
  • Excellent accuracy, organisation and record-keeping
  • Able to work independently and prioritise a busy workload
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach to resolving queries
