Assistant Management Accountant

The business is looking to add an Assistant Management Accountant to the finance team, offering a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing management accounting experience.

The Role

Reporting into the Management Accountant, you’ll support the wider finance team with month-end management accounts, reconciliations, analysis and reporting.

This would suit someone who is already working in a finance role and is either part-qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA, with the opportunity to take on further responsibility within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Completing monthly gross profit reconciliations and analysis
• Preparing accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and intercompany accounts
• Assisting with expenses and accruals
• Supporting the wider finance team with reporting and more complex queries
• Assisting with month-end processes and ad hoc financial reporting
• Working closely with colleagues across the finance function

Desirable Skills

• Part-qualified or currently studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA
• Previous experience preparing or supporting management accounts
• Strong reconciliation experience
• Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables and IF statements
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities
• A proactive approach with the ability to work as part of a busy finance team
