Accounts Assistant

The Company

A well-established and growing international business with an established finance team based in Sevenoaks. The business is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the team.

The Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced transactional finance professional who is looking for more responsibility and ownership within a busy finance function. The role will initially be office-based while you settle into the business, with hybrid working available once fully trained.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day cashbook
• Completing daily bank and financial reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies and unidentified transactions
• Processing supplier and overhead invoices
• Supporting payment runs and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time
• Monitoring incoming payments and reconciling sales and commission income
• Supporting month-end processes and management reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and transaction coding
• Responding to finance queries across the business
• Working with a high volume of financial transactions
• Supporting the wider Accounts team with ad hoc finance duties

Desirable Skills

• Strong experience with cashbook management and bank reconciliations
• Confident investigating and resolving reconciliation differences
• Experience with supplier invoices, payments and general transactional finance
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Experience within a high-volume or multi-currency environment would be advantageous
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership
