Accountancy Practice - Small Firm Client Manager

This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in a small to mid-sized practice, who is comfortable managing their own portfolio while also reviewing the work of junior staff.

The Role

You will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, acting as the main point of contact and delivering a high standard of service across accounts and tax. The role offers a balanced mix of hands-on work and review responsibilities, with genuine scope for progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, including limited companies, LLPs, and sole traders

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102/105)

• Reviewing corporation tax and personal tax work

• Acting as the primary contact for clients, providing ongoing advice and support

• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and mentorship

• Ensuring deadlines are met across accounts, tax, and compliance work

About You:

• ACA or ACCA qualified

• Proven experience working within a small or independent accountancy practice

• Confident managing client relationships and handling queries directly

• Comfortable with a mix of preparation and review work

• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax

• Proactive, organised, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
