Trust Financial Controller

My client is a North London Multi Academy Trust, proud of its longstanding connection to the community and in light of new schools joining the group, is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to lead the central finance team.

Working with the Trust leadership team, this is a pivotal role to lead an expert financial management service to all academies within the Trust.  You’ll have responsibility for the daily management of the Trust financial affairs and performance, providing regular briefings to the leadership team on the Trust's financial performance, management accounts and budget matters. Key to this role is the ongoing development of the Trusts strategic financial plan as the number of schools grows and ensuring that all central team controls, processes and systems are best positioned for the forecasted growth.  You’ll ensure that all statutory financial obligations are met, to include a wide range of internal reporting and external financial submissions in line with the academy trust handbook requirements. The role will make the best use of data and sound financial insight to individual schools leaders and to aid strategic decision making at Trust level.

Applications are sought from formally qualified accountants, with experience of the academies sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to really help guide and shape the future of the Trust at a crucial time in their history, with plenty of longer term development opportunities available. Hybrid working opportunities are on offer. Although a 52 week working pattern is preferred, candidates that would want term time working plus a small number of holiday working weeks are welcomed to apply.
